For romantics, dog lovers, and millennial women of all other stripes comes Dogs, Boys, and Other Things I’ve Cried About, a memoir from Isabel Klee, the woman behind @simonsits. Isabel tells the story of life in New York City in her twenties and early thirties as she fosters a variety of dogs and dates a variety of men.
This is the first truly great book I’ve read by a content creator. It’s a must read. I can easily imagine it becoming a movie in the tradition of classic 90s rom-coms, which is just about the highest compliment I can give a book. It’s beautifully written. You really feel like you’re walking through life with Isabel and the dogs who come in and out of her story. Her experiences are also incredibly relatable. Readers who haven’t already fallen for Isabel through her Instagram and TikTok content will want to be best friends with her after reading this book.
I could not recommend this one more highly. I’m already looking forward to re-reading it on audio.
Note: Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow for providing me with an Advanced Reading Copy and an Advanced Listening Copy.
