I am not a person who loves Lena Dunham but I did love her second memoir Famesick. What’s not to like about a talented writer who has almost no filter??
I really admire how open and reflective Dunham is in this book that takes us from her early 20s, pre Girls, through to when she meets her husband in her mid 30s. She spills it all – the evolution and eventual dissolution of her friendship with Jenni Konner and her relationship with Jack Antonoff, the weird vibes between her and her Girls castmates, her innumerable health struggles, and her fight for sobriety. The girl does not hold back. And she comes across as refreshingly self-aware which isn’t always the case in a celebrity memoir.
This is a must read for millennial women.
