Parks and Rec by Jennifer Keishin Armstrong is a history of the beloved TV show Parks and Recreation. It’s neither bad nor great. Just middling.
Good on audio, the narrator is decent, and there’s a fun intro written and narrated by Nick Offerman, the actor behind Ron Swanson himself.
My problem with books like this is a me problem. I’m a collector of trivia about the things I love, so I rarely learn anything new. Most fans aren’t like that, though. For them, this will be a genuinely fun and informative listen.
If you don’t love Parks and Recreation, don’t celebrate Galentine’s Day, and don’t “treat yo’ self,” skip it. But if you do? You’ll probably at least like this one, even if you don’t love it.
